The "To Don't" List
Is it just me or does the phrase "To Do List" conjure up thoughts of all the things we haven't done? And what about those one or two items that are continually transferred (if you're like me and like pretty paper) from one pretty piece of paper to another. Many times I will review my list and all but one or two things will be done. I reach for another piece of "To Do List" paper and rewrite those two things and add another four to forty things. I had the most freeing thought the other day. "What if I mark something off my list that isn't even done?" Is that legal? Can you really remove something, without guilt, that is not completed? Is there a To Do List etiquiette book? I thought I would try it and see what happened. I waited for bells and sirens to go off. Nothing. I think I feel pretty good. No, I know I feel good. That "To Do" was definitely a "To Don't". Not right now anyway. It is something that I most certainly can do later on down the raod. There is no need for me to continue to let that task bring guilt to me everyday for the fact that it remains undone. Well, I think I need to go finish my list of "To Don'ts".
