Boiling Pot

Well, we experienced a "first" last night. My very dear frined M. invited our family over because they were celebrating two of her boys birthdays. (She and her husband have five children). She told me they would be serving a boiling pot meal. When we got there it was not what I was expecting. It was so much better and it was lots of fun. They had two long tables pushed together and parchment paper covered them. Two large foil pans were on each end of the table. They were filled with crawfish, shrimp, corn on the cob, whole red potatoes, crab legs and sausage. A large container of salt and pepper, a bottle of honey mustard and two glass bottles of melted butter were also scattered about. There were about ten small round coaster type plates placed about every three chairs. The way this worked was we just sat down and dug in. We just picked what we wanted and peeled the crawfish and shrimp a piece at a time. We poured the melted butter in our coaster plate and some others poured mounds of salt and pepper and mustard right in front of them on the paper and you just eat. No plates or silverware. Talk about fun. The weather was beautiful and the kids played so well together. It's hard to beat good friends and good food!!!
