The Adventures of the Harris 5

I'm still playing catch-up and I am determined to get it done! Here are our family adventures of the Summer of 2009 and boy did we have a few!

March
Spring Break fun at Rockport beach.
The girls having fun together.

This one of Jack is so cute.

Easter Family pictures

Opening Easter presents

It had been a little while since it had rained so the kids were making the most
of it!

We still had to eat despite the rain!

May
Mother's Day
Adam surprised me and took us to Houston for a yummy lunch and dessert. But not before he snapped a picture of me and my three blessings.

My dad preached at a church not too far from us so we were more than excited to go spend several hours with them one Saturday.

This is the tallest statue any of us have ever seen. It was of Stephen F. Austin.

At the very end of May the kids went to spend a few days with grandparents in West Texas before we went to join them. Adam and I took the opportunity to paint three areas in our house. I think about half way through we wondered what in the world we were thinking, but it was well worth it!
During: (I forgot to take before pictures)

After:

Once our painting was done, it was time to join the kids and we decided to make it one BIG raodtrip!
First Stop: Levelland, Texas, to see my parents!!
Almost every evening we were there a dust storm blew in.

Reunion with good friends

Mom took me shopping and bought me this top. Her birthday was coming up and she liked it so much that I bought her one!
**Unfortunately, we were so busy having fun, I didn't even take pictures of the kids with their grandparents. :(

June
Second Stop: Albuquerque, New Mexico
We decided to go see Nana Peg and a couple of our dear friends from our time in ministry. We were not able to see all the people we would have liked to due to the very brief time we were there. We had such a great time being back in Albuquerque.

Driving into Abq.

Some of Grandpa Tom's roses.

Nana had these two white bunnies that would come in and out of her back yard. She was not sure who they belonged to, but we enjoyed watching them.

Each time we have visited Albuquerque we are amazed at how it has grown and changed since we lived there. We had fun on this shopping adventure in a new area!

My good Friend "E" and I. It was great to catch up on life!

"J" and Adam and sleepy head Jack

Adam and I drove over the Rio Grande River everyday to go to church and work for the better part of five years. It is a beautiful drive!

Nana with the kids. It was time to move on to our third and final stop of our roadtrip!

One final stop on our way out of Abq-Tinkertown. This is a most fascinating place. If you are ever in Abq you should check this place out.

Clouds and mountains

Good-bye Albuquerque, see you next time!!

A storm we encountered on the way to Midland. It was beautiful.

Third Stop: Midland, Texas
Seeing Ethan for the first time in a while. (We bought matching shirts for the cousin's)

No trip to Pop and Nana's is complete without seeing the cows.

(Again, no pictures with aunt/uncle or grandparents! Sorry:()

JULY

We had two fun trips in July.
First was a trip to Dallas to spend time with my brother and his family and my mom and dad. We also got to spend a day at Six Flags. It was so much fun.

Jack could hardly contain his excitement on the way to Six Flags.

Going...

Going...

Gone!

(My mom broke her foot a week before our Dallas trip so they were unable to go to Six Flags with all of the rest of us to Six Flags but we were able to spend some time together anyway. Thanks for a great weekend!)

I love this picture of the sky on our way home from Dallas!

Our next trip was towards the end of July. Adam and I took the kids to Port Aransas to enjoy a couple of days of quality time with just the five of us. We had an absolute blast. A few months back we had stopped for about thirty minutes with Brooklin to show her the beach there. I saw a ceramics shop and proposed the whole idea to Adam. We should go to the beach and then the girls and I could go make something and the boys could do whatever boys do and what fun it would be! Well, once things were in place and we told the kids about our trip and the fun things we had planned, Adam asked Jack what he would like to do. Jack told us that he would like the boys to get massages. Where in the world did that come from? So after us girls did our ceramic thing, we treated the boys to the best massages around!!

Ceramic Fun!
