Main Verse: Habukkuk 2:2-3 "And the Lord answered me: Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3)For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay."
Main Thought: Journaling
Message:
A fresh journal and new pen are two things I really enjoy. I have a stash of journals tucked away that are filled with verses, thoughts, joys, sorrows, sermon notes, funny quotes, kids scribbles from when they were small and got into my journal. I love to go back and read the pages. I love that I have those memories. There are things that I am happy to remember and things I am sad to remember, but still glad that I recorded. I enjoy journaling, sometimes I journal everyday, other times I am not as consistent, but that's okay. In church today, our Pastor used the above verse and I think it fitting for this post as well. I know in another post I mentioned writing out goals and how important I believe it is. There is something about writing down or saying things that are in us. It makes our dreams more real.
I recently ran across a blogpost that was about journaling but the focus was children journaling. I loved the idea so much that I purchased a new journal for our son and gave him some guidelines and this is what I saw him doing this morning.
There is nothing, as a parent, that makes my heart happier than when I see our children loving and following God's ways.
Journaling doesn't need to be looked at as one more thing to fill your time with or another thing to add to your to-do list. Just buy a pretty journal and keep it in a handy spot to jot down funny things your kids say, a verse that jumps off the page, or when something good or even challenging happens. Write down your goals for 2014 or even, dare I say, your DREAMS in that journal.. Add some prayer and bam!! It will be so neat to go back and read and even record God's answers.
Do you journal? Do you find it theraputic and helpful? I'd love to hear from you, just comment below or send me an email at tharrisphoto@gmail.com.
Happy Journaling,
Tiffany
