Being a Teacher's Aide
I have had an interesting three weeks as a teacher's aide. I have come to some conclusions: Each day is predictable yet utterly unpredictable. Each day some of the children are perfect angels and the next, well, let's just say angel would not be how I would describe them. There is never enough tissues or tape. There are always the kids who do exactly the opposite of what you ask. I never know what they are going to say (like the child who was saying God made craps, aka. crabs-hehe).. And one last conclusion, I forgot to pass on the memo that I do NOT do blood. I will leave out details, however, let me just say, yesterday was a very traumatic day for me. I was helping several children wash their hands when one child and a very hard surface met. Blood, there was lots of blood. Last I know she was going to need a few stitches. I have replayed the image in my head a thousand times. She will be okay, but that was horrible. So having said that, I do love my job. I have come to love each of those sweet children. The lead teacher is very experienced and wonderful. Despite the rough moments I know God put me in the right place at the right time. And Kids -DO NOT BLEED WHEN I AM AROUND!!!!!
