We started June off by starting to work on potty-training. As my experience (with two girls) has been, when they are ready-they are ready. Not before that. He did not do too bad. Candy, as a reward, is a great motivator. I will spare you all of the details, but let's just say that yesterday (June 30th) was not one of our more successful days. So now we will try in July.
The second weekend in June we had a garage sale. Jack said a couple of funny things. Their was a couple with their two kids and they made a purchase. Adam was helping them load it up and then told Jack to tell Jack (their little boy)bye. He said, "Bye me". So cute. Then as some kids rummaged through some of the girls things to buy, Jack said, "No, that's Brooklin's". We tried to keep him in the house as much as possible.
Here are some words he says in his own way:
Domiyos for domino's
Tummy-tummies for Telly Tubbies
Lemalay for lemonade
Funner for thunder
Other than that he speaks so clearly and in complete sentences.
The other day I remembered that I had tucked away our old Christmas magazines filled with toys galore. I needed something to distract him so I pulled them out. He loves his "magzine's". He looks through them several times a day and each time it is like he has never seen them before. Each time he turns a page I hear, "WOW!". It is so adorable. I remember this stage of wonder with the girls and it is awesome. Everything is wow or whoa to him. How easily we as adults don't see many things through this lens.
I think that other than an injury to his big toe on his left foot (the toe nail did fall off) no major injuries to report-PTL!!!
He continues to grow and develop and make us laugh (a lot) and cry (a little). I was reminded the other day about his beginning. It was wanted but early on very uncertain. Many prayers were offered on his behalf and I am so thankful, even on the challenging days that we were blessed with Jack. He completes our family so beautifully.
Now here are some photos to recap June:
