Motivation Monday for Moms {Praying For Our Children}

Main Verses:

Main Thought: Praying For Our Children

Message:

Although late, it is still Monday.  I had to say a few "No's" last week so that I could keep balance and therefore the blog did not get done.  I have been thinking about the fact that summer is coming to a close and that my three precious children will begin another school year.  All one year older and wiser-growing up way too fast. I dreaded Jack starting Kinder (back in 2011) because he was my baby.  I felt emotional, teared up a bit, and then enjoyed my day with all three of my kids in school. I enjoy the routine that school provides and I enjoy the freedom from routine that summer provides. I really love my kids.  However, as much as I love them, their Heavenly Father loves them so much more and in a way that I will never be capable of.  He is with them, watching over them 24/7.  I can only be in one place at a time, but not God.  I take great comfort in that fact.
 In light of the crazy world we live in, I want my kids to know that we (my husband and I ) love them and that God loves them and that He is with them always.  There are so many great verses to pray over your child.  Verses concerning any number of topics, prayers of blessings, prayers to pray over them that are specific to something concerning them (fear, self-image, or friends).  Simple, short prayers as they walk out the door, or longer prayers when you tell them good night.  Prayers, that come from our heart in the middle of the night (figuratively or literally).  Prayer is powerful and life changing.  You may not always see the result you desire when you want to, but we must pray in faith, that God is hearing us on behalf of our children and His Father Heart is for them not against them.  I am going to list a few verses out to help get you started.  I encourage you to take some time to pray over each of your children and ask God to show you a verse to pray over them for the entire school year.

Prayer Focus: Respect for Authority-Proverbs 1:7

Prayer Focus: Their walk with God-3 John 4

Prayer Focus: Obedience-Ephesians 6:1

Prayer Focus: Purity-I Thessalonians 4:3-5

Prayer Focus: School-Isaiah 54:13

Prayer Focus: Their words-Psalm 19:14

Prayer Focus: Protection-Lamentations 2:19

Prayer Focus: Friends-Proverbs 13:20

Prayer Focus: Relationship with siblings-I Peter 3:8-9

Prayer Focus: Future Spouse (it's not too early to start praying)-Proverbs 18:22

I encourage you to look these up and just pray one a day over your children,  then go back to the first one.  God has great plans, pray for them and for you as you are raising them!

Praying for you too,
Tiffany
