Earlier this summer I shared my living room make-over. One of the things I did was added a few pieces of DIY project pieces in. I am going to "show" you how I did the canvas that hangs over the piano.
Supplies Needed:
Plain, white canvas-any size
Copies of quotes, clip art, etc. on white copy paper
Mod-Podge
Cream/ivory colored tissue paper
Paint brush or sponge for the Mod-Podge
Buttons (if you want to embellish)
Ribbon or picture hanger attached to back
Newspaper/cover for your work area
1.) Lay out your canvas
2.) Cut out quotes, clip art, patterns. Try to trim around as neatly as possible
3.)Lay them out on your canvas and arrange as desired.
4.)Mod podge these down. Let dry.
5.)Tear the tissue paper into "chunks" (don't cut). Mod podge these in various places around the canvas. Or you can cover the entire canvas. Let dry.
6.)Hot glue buttons on front and ribbon at desired length to back.
7.)Done.
This was a fun and simple project. It took a little time but nothing hard.
This might be a fun little project to work on while your little ones (or big ones) are at school!
More projects to come,
Tiffany
