Main Verse: Romans 8:15 "For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba!Father!" (ESV)
Main Thought: Adoption
Message:
As many of you know, last month (November) was National Adoption Awareness Month. I am personally very thankful for the gift of adoption. I was only 9 days old when my parents were handed my robust 8lbs 1oz self in the Chapel of a hospital in San Antonio, Texas in October of 1972. What a great day for all of us! God had put me in their heart long before I was conceived. Even though my birth parents were not planning on me, I came as no surprise to God. I am thankful for adoption and all that it means. It means I am wanted. I belong. I have a family that loves me. As a Christian we are adopted into God's family. This is a beautiful, wonderful thing. We are wanted. We belong. To the King of Kings no less! That's the best news of all. Salvation involves being adopted into the Family of God. God sent His own Son to die on the Cross for you and I before we were even born, with no assurance any of us will accept His Son as our Savior. We have a rich heritage as a Christian and we have all of eternity to live with God in Heaven as His adopted sons and daughters. I am so thankful that I am adopted and that my parents taught me about God and that I have been adopted into God's family. I am wanted. I belong. Whether you have adopted a child yourself or know of someone, it is a gift. I pray you all know the saving grace that God provided by sending His Son to the Cross to die in our place and that when you receive His Son to live in your heart you now are adopted into God's family! If you would like more information about Salvation please send me a private message to tharrisphoto@gmail.com.
I also wanted to include the link to two different blogs of friends of mine.
The link is to the blog of a friend who she and her husband have adopted two boys from two different countries after having three biological children. Their story is one of an amazing journey filled with setbacks and victories. But most of all love-lots of love!
The second link is to a blog of a sweet family who just recently adopted a baby girl. It is a beautiful story of patience and trusting God's timing. Now this family of three is a fantastic family of four.
God bless,
Tiffany
