Main Thought: Setting Goals

The calendar changes from 2013 to 2014 in two days. That is hard to believe. This has been a great year. It has been full of God's amazing provision and blessing, not just in the happy times, but in the hard times as well. I hope and pray that each of you come to the end of 2013 and reflect with fondness over the year and that you resolve to hear and be led by God in 2014 even more. I can remember growing up, each New Year's Eve my mom and dad would gather us three kids up and we would review the goals we had set from the previous year and talk about new goals for the upcoming year. I was always amazed at how goals were reached even without staring at the list 24/7 365 days days a year. I think taking time to set some goals and then writing them down made a HUGE difference. This is a tradition that my husband and I have taken on as our own. We will ring in the New Year with some snacks and apple cider and our family gathered up and sharing goals for 2014. I will treasure this as I realize that the number of New Year's Eve we have to celebrate as we do now will be gone before we know it as our children are getting older. When the kids were younger we treated the ball dropping in NY as our midnight, but the day came when they realized the time difference-oh well. Precious memories. I hope you take some time to reflect on where you are at in 2013 and purpose to live 2014 boldly in the middle of God's will.
