Main Verse: Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me, all [a]who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."
Main thought: Encouragement
Message:
Last week I found myself walking out the door to work in tears. As I got to work and visited with a co-worker, we realized we had each had the same kind of morning and were having the same kind of feelings. As I thought about it I knew I was feeling God's leading to share encouragement to all the
staff at school. And as I was thinking about what I was to share here, I feel I should encourage each of you with what I shared with them.
When I left the house in tears I was feeling overwhelmed about all the things I have left undone and I was thinking about all of the things on my to-do list. I had been snippy with my girls. And I was thinking this is not how life should be, so busy that there is not enough time to get everything done, including getting enough rest. As I tried to talk myself into a better attitude on the four minute drive to work, I considered, "this too shall pass." We all have a busy season every now and then and it will slow done for most of us very soon. This is an especially wonderful time of year. But I know some are feeling the sting of missing a loved one, or reminded of strained relationships, or facing financial difficulty or the materialism side of Christmas. Whatever the reason for feeling a bit blue or down or overwhelmed or stressed or sad, I pray you each find peace and rest in Jesus. He is the reason for the season and He loves each of you more than anyone ever could. I encourage you to try and carve out at least 5 minutes each morning to read a verse and pray. It's amazing how purposefully spending time with God makes ALL the difference.
Be encourages,
Tiffany
Extra: I was looking up the verse on biblegateway.com and at the very top of the page I found this encouraging link to 5 days of a devotional. All you have to do is give your email address and it comes right to your email account!
