Motivational Monday for Moms {Labor Day Special}

I sat down to write todays blog and found I had writers block.  I did not have a sense of anything I should share.  Then, as I was vacuuming, it hit me.  I am going to post a simple project and a quick dessert recipe.  Hopefully everyone is enjoying a somewhat relaxing Labor Day and maybe you can be inspired.

Chore Chart Project.  Simply saying the word 'chore' may not be your idea of fun, however, assigning chores to capable children is important.  It teaches them responsibility and working as a team in a family.  I had a chore chart that we used all school year long last year and it was time for an update.  This project cost me a little bit of time, first figuring out all the chores I felt I could ask someone else to do and then making the actual chart.

Supplies Needed:

Scrapbook Paper
Small clothespins
Typed list of chores and weeks of the year
Large Magnet (if you want to hang on fridge) or Picture frame minus the glass
Hot glue
Glue Stick

That's it!  Here is a photo of the finished product and a photo of the supplies used.

I switch out the weeks at the top and then the chores between the children each Sunday.  So far it keeps everyone on track.  We do make exceptions for birthdays or if someone has an extremely busy day.  We are a family and we work together.

Quick Dessert:
You need a few simple ingredients and a little time in the freezer and yummo.  I must say I know these may be on Pinterest, however, I got the recipe last summer.  I will always do my very best to credit anyone when I use a recipe or craft specifically from someone else.

Ingredients:
Graham crackers broken in half
Large tub of cool-whip (we use the lite)
Mini choco chips
Baking sheet and foil

Directions:
Mix the cool whip and choco chips until blended.

Spoon onto one graham cracker half, placing the other half on top.
Sorry, not sure how many it makes, I just made them until the mix ran out.

Place on foil, on a baking sheet that will fit in your freezer.  It may be September, but it is still so hot outside, they are a refreshing treat..  These would make a great after school snack as well.  You can also put fruit in instead of choco chips, but allow a bit of time for them to thaw enough to avoid rock solid fruit.

Happy Labor (free) Day!
