Main Thought: The Importance of attending church!

Message:
The other day as I was scrolling through Facebook I read the post of one of my good friends and even shared it because I thought it was so good.  Here it is, "I've seen on FB all weekend that parents are getting their kids to all kinds of sports.  That's great but don't neglect getting them into the house of God this weekend where they can be trained for real life.  ..." That is such truth and I appreciate my friend Connie for sharing that.  As our own family is in a new season filled with busy sports schedules and driver's ed and, and, and....we understand the need for rest.  However, not at the expense of missing out on what matters most.  Jack was saying something about how he knew church and God were more important than sports.  I'm thankful.  Being busy with daily life is just well, part of life, however, when it begins to cause us to loose focus or "giving up meeting together" according to God's own Word we must step back and count the cost. I understand people say that their relationship with God is what matters most and I understand it is easy to catch a sermon on line (which I will be doing this week myself).  However there is no substitute for going to church and fellowshipping with others and hearing God's Word for yourself. As  I look closer at the post I referenced above I see the phrase "don't neglect getting them into the house of God...where they can be trained for life." that is powerful.  I have been teaching in the 1st-5th grade class all of September at our church, and we have been learning about courage and we learned the verse Psalm 56:3.  I cannot tell you how it warms my heart to hear them talk about how they were brave during something hard and then quote the verse we have been working on.  And when one of the kids shares something they overcame it encourages the other kids too.  I love the main verse for today's blog- Psalm 122:1 and remind my kids of it often. It is a privilege to attend a life- giving, awesome church where we not only learn about God but have fun too.  I pray that no matter how busy your life gets that church will always be something you carve out time for because our kids are watching us and they need to see us living out the example.

God Bless,
Tiffany
